Kwenda participated in the 2025 Takulandirani Malawi International Tourism Expo (MITE), a major event in Malawi’s tourism calendar that brings together key players in the travel and hospitality industries. Over the three-day exhibition, our team connected with visitors, demonstrated our digital solutions, and officially revealed our upcoming accommodation booking platform.

At Kwenda.co, our goal is to make travel simple and accessible through digital tools that allow people to book, explore, and experience Malawi with ease. Known for our e-ticketing services for events and football matches, we used the Expo to highlight our next offering: Online Accommodation Booking.

Our booth featured a simple, interactive design, complete with display panels and hands-on demos. Visitors were able to test our new platform’s interface and see how easy it is to use. Our team was available to answer questions, and many attendees shared positive feedback about the platform. They expressed excitement about its launch and noted the impact it could have on tourism in Malawi.

Before the Expo, we started onboarding accommodation providers and were excited to expand our network during the event. By partnering with various providers, we aim to make it easier for travelers to find and book places to stay across Malawi.

On Day 2, we welcomed visits from Dr. Hon. Vera Kamtukule, Minister of Tourism, and Hon. Monica Chang’anamuno, Minister of Defence. Their support reinforced the importance of digital innovation in strengthening tourism.

Day 3 saw an influx of interest from the general public, who were eager to explore Kwenda’s journey and future initiatives. Many attendees shared their curiosity about what Kwenda is venturing into next, particularly in the digital transformation of travel and tourism. Their excitement and engagement highlighted the broader community’s enthusiasm for innovative solutions that simplify travel experiences.

As part of our mission, we are also committed to empowering small and medium-sized accommodation providers. Our platform will help these businesses reach more customers by offering them an accessible digital space to promote their services. Through this, we hope to support local tourism and economic growth.

Interest in Kwenda remained strong throughout the Expo, with many attendees keen to learn more about our new service and how it will simplify travel. The reveal of our accommodation booking platform marked an important milestone, paving the way for more accessible and convenient stays across Malawi. But we’re not stopping there—our platform will soon include bookings for tour packages, car rentals, and flights, further enhancing the travel experience and making it a one-stop solution for all travel needs.
