A proud moment for Kwenda and Malawi as our Founder & CEO, Lumbani Gondwe, has been named Africa’s Most Respected CEO in E-Commerce 2026 at the 6th Africa’s Most Respected CEOs Conference & Awards, held in Lusaka, Zambia.

The award recognises Lumbani’s visionary leadership, business excellence, innovation, and contribution to economic growth and sustainable development through his work leading Kwenda, a multi-award winning and first Malawian technology startup company, simplifying travel through technology.

The prestigious gathering was held under the theme “Making Africa a Global Business Hub” and brought together CEOs and business leaders from across Africa, with award recipients representing countries including Malawi, Zambia, Ghana, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Djibouti, and Botswana, among others.

The awardees were identified through a rigorous process recognising exceptional CEOs making significant strides across different sectors and contributing to the growth of African business.

For Lumbani, this recognition is a significant milestone in Kwenda’s journey from a homegrown Malawian technology company to an increasingly regional business.
