As 2025 draws to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we have shared this year. What once felt like distant ambition has become real progress, and none of it would have been possible without the trust of our users and the unwavering support of our partners.

2025 Highlights

Expansion and Growth 🌍

In 2025, Kwenda took a bold step toward regional expansion by extending our e-ticketing and travel-tech solutions into Zambia. This year, we surpassed 500,000 active users, processed over MWK 1 billion in ticket value, and reached a historic milestone with the highest-grossing football ticket sales in Malawi’s history, recording MWK 216 million from the Airtel Top 8 Finals 2025.

Innovation, Growth and Recognition 💡🏆

We launched transformative features designed to make user experience, access and connectivity easier than ever, including our V2 technology and USSD infrastructure - all launched in 2025. The year 2025 saw Kwenda being awarded Malawi’s Innovation and Technology Solution of the Year by the ICT Association of Malawi, a powerful vote of confidence in what we are building at Kwenda.

Partnerships 🤝

Collaboration remained central to our growth in 2025. We partnered with key institutions and brands including the Football Association of Malawi (FAM), marking the country’s first-ever football e-ticketing partnership, the Netball Association of Malawi for the Africa Netball Cup, the Malawi Tourism Council (MTC), Amaryllis Hotels, National Bank of Malawi, NBS Bank, Latitude Hotels, Standard Bank Live at Kumbali, Wizkid Live in Malawi, and many others.

Most importantly, Kwenda’s technology reached thousands of people, reinforcing our mission to create meaningful and inclusive impact through innovation.
