Today, we proudly celebrate two years of our existence and digital transformation impact in Malawi, a milestone that reflects our commitment to building digital solutions that simplify how people connect with experiences, services, and opportunities across Malawi.

What began as a vision by our Founder and CEO, Lumbani Gondwe, to build Africa’s first Digital Travel infrastructure to digitize and simplify experiences and travel, has grown into something impactful and much bigger. Over the past two years, Kwenda has evolved from just being Malawi’s first E-ticketing and Travel Technology startup company into a comprehensive and impactful digital transformational force for Malawi, continually expanding its offerings while remaining focused on delivering seamless, reliable, and user-friendly digital experiences.

This growth has been driven by a simple belief: innovation is never a destination; it is an ongoing journey of transformational impact. Since launching our first technology (V1), we have continuously invested in improving our technology to better serve our users. The introduction of V2 marked a significant leap forward, and every enhancement since has been guided by one principle: listening to our users. Every update, feature, and improvement reflects our commitment to embracing feedback and building a platform that evolves alongside the needs of the people and businesses we serve.

As our platform has grown, so too has the range of solutions we provide. Today, Kwenda powers event e-ticketing, accommodation bookings, football e-ticketing, and membership registration, helping organizations and individuals access these services with greater ease and convenience. This is only the beginning. With more products and services already in development, we remain focused on our vision of becoming Africa’s leading travel technology company - we are building the Malawi and Africa we want.

Our journey has not only been defined by growth but also by back-to-back recognitions and awards. Over the past two years, Kwenda has been honored with three industry awards with 2 awards in the last 1 year, recognizing our innovation, scalability, and contribution to Malawi's digital landscape. Kwenda was named Malawi’s Most Scalable Solution at the inaugural National ICT Innovation Awards in April 2026 by the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA), Malawi E-commerce Platform of the Year 2026 at the ICT International Corporate Awards by the ICT Association of Malawi (ICTAM) in June 2026, aside being named Malawi’s Best Innovation and Technology Solution of the Year 2025 by the ICT Association of Malawi (ICTAM). These milestones are a testament to the dedication, creativity, and resilience of our team, and they inspire us to continue building solutions that create lasting value for our customers and partners.
